Accessibility Statement
HighPointe Care is committed to ensuring digital accessibility and barrier-free communication for people of all abilities across California and Nevada.
HighPointe Care Digital Accessibility Policy
1. Our Commitment
HighPointe Care is firmly dedicated to ensuring that our website (highpointecare.org), digital communications, and services are accessible to everyone, including individuals with visual, auditory, motor, cognitive, and neurological disabilities. We believe everyone deserves equal access to information regarding our programs, residential homes, and support services.
2. Conformance Standards
To provide an inclusive digital experience, we aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
Our accessibility efforts are aligned with:
- Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
- Section 504 & 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
- California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) accessibility and nondiscrimination standards
- CARF International accreditation standards for person-centered communication
3. Measures Taken to Ensure Accessibility
HighPointe Care takes the following continuous measures across our digital platform:
- High Contrast Color System: Text and interactive elements maintain high contrast ratios exceeding the WCAG 4.5:1 requirement.
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive components, forms, modals, and menus are fully navigable using a standard keyboard.
- Semantic HTML & ARIA Landmarks: Proper heading hierarchy (H1–H6), landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), and descriptive ARIA attributes for screen reader compatibility.
- Accessible Form Labels & Bot Protection: Transparent, invisible bot verification (reCAPTCHA v3) without audio/visual challenges, paired with explicit form labels.
- Alternative Text for Images: Meaningful visual media include descriptive
alttext, and decorative assets are appropriately marked. - Responsive & Resizable: Layouts adapt gracefully across mobile phones, tablets, and desktop displays with browser zoom up to 200%.
4. Third-Party Content & Tools
While we strive to ensure that all pages on our website are accessible, third-party embedded content (such as Google Maps, external PDF documents, or third-party accreditation registries) may occasionally have limitations outside our direct control. We actively work with partners and vendors to encourage the highest accessibility standards.
5. Feedback & Contact Information
We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of HighPointe Care's digital services. If you experience any accessibility barriers, need assistance with any part of our site, or require materials in an alternative format (e.g., large print, audio, plain text), please reach out to our accessibility coordinator:
